Name: Andy Age: 5 years Breed: 50# Lab/Mastiff Mix Sex: Male, not neutered Location: Spartanburg County, SC Does anyone have room for the only dog you'll need, sweet Andy? Vet Information: Not up to date on vaccinations but is on flea and heartworm medication. Andy is not neutered. He has not officially been diagnosed as blind, but, per his owner, he has cloudy eyes and appears to get around based on smell and memory. Andy has had problems in the past with itchy ears that have been treated. Owner Information: In February of 2023, Andy's owner reported that he's sad and eating less and less. His owner says that she knows it's sadness because when he gets steady visits, he eats more and gains weight. Andy has been to boarding and became a great leash walker and car rider! He's house trained and adapted to meeting new people! He's worked on his trust issues with the vet so his ears can be treated. In July of 2023, Andy's owner told us that Andy is doing much better. His navigation is improving. She still thinks he would thrive in a one dog household as an only pet. In February 2024, Andy's owner told us that he's doing great. They've been working hard on his socialization! Andy Says: 'I'm a handsome and charismatic guy and I know it. I have this amazing thick and luxurious coat that you'll love to pet, but I'm as jealous as a cat and will withhold affection from you if I feel that you have been ignoring me. I love humans and want all of the attention for myself. I am all the dog you need. I play, hang-out calmly, share your food, leave your personal belongings alone, and stay in the backyard when you leave me outside; no digging holes or jumping the fence for me. Why have other dogs when you have me? I should be your only dog. We'll love it! I could honestly use a visit to the veterinarian as my ears are bothering me. I'm finicky about letting the girl who takes care of me clean them, but they itch. Other than that, nothing is wrong with me. I do tend to shed a lot, but I don't like big messes either and push all of my fur neatly into a corner for you to sweep up later. I like things clean, thank you very much.'
