About Marley

Australian Shepherd mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

I inherited Marley from my father when he passed in early 2019. He was given Marley when she was about 12 weeks old. She has lived in rural TN her entire life and has roamed between properties. She is protective of what she considers her property and her human. She has never bitten anyone but I have never risked it either. She is a 'herding' type and will try to 'herd you' when she is excited. She is very loving. She is funny and kinda sassy like a Husky. She puts up with cats as long as if they are inside the house. If outside, they are fair game. She is great to my two youngest rescue cats and treats them like puppies. My dad's cat is evil to Marley yet Marley behaves nicely towards her in the house. Unfortunately, I have to re-home Marley due to my physical disabilities and upcoming surgeries. I have tripped and fallen several times while taking care of her. She is just too big for me and my gait is too unstable. I am hoping to find a forever home for her in a rural area with someone that is in need of a dog for protection. I do not recommend children. She was not raised with them and only saw my dad's grandkid's sporadically. She has always been good with kids for visits and gets along with other friendly pets. I just took her to the vet and had her vaccines updated, routine deworming, new prescription for flea/tick/heart worm treatment and had her microchipped. I am not charging a rehiring fee but I will be interviewing perspective adoptive parents in detail. Marley has been in our family for 9 years. She is not just a dog and we do not want to just dump her with the first person that calls. We want to make sure that personalities mesh and both parties are happy
