About George

Adoption Fee: $350
Lab / Poodle
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

This is a special 3 year old Labradoodle. Georgie is severely in a state of emotional needs. He craves love and attention but is extremely skiddish. He needs lots of emotional support. Supplies you need. Wide 18' martingale choke collar and a long horse lunge line. He is also listed on Schnauzer Rescue of the Carolinas. I had to give general listing for his work up but am giving exact details in this post. These are things I've learned taking care of him. I do know if he were to escape most likely the shelter would have to capture him with drastic measures. I can picture Georgie as a best friend to a wounded warrior and becoming a very bonded friend. Especially if an emotional support dog is needed. I truly believe with time and patience he would be a lifelong best friend. I doubt he would heal enough to welcome other people. He does however, like other dogs. He has enjoyed my little dogs a lot and wasn't shy with my large dog. I've taken him to a vet and had his vaccinations and rabies. Tested negative for heart worms and round worm eggs were seen and I have his Drontal worm tablet for him when he gets his forever home. He is not neutered. He's 61 lbs and easy care. Doesn't require grooming. Just the occasional nail trim. I'm hoping to find what he needs, having a person to call his own and once calmed down loves being loved on and kind of melts. But this, so far p, has happened then he returns to a very scared dog. His left hip/side is super sensitive to being touched. I feel something painful with human contact happened sometime in his life. I have pushed thru this and he has allowed me to touch him all over. He has not tried to bite he just doesn't trust easily. I took him in to help a friend that got him. He needs a 6' fence as he leaped mine like a deer. He did come to me but had to have help catching him by corralling him. He doesn't load well in a vehicle but once in it he settles down And is quiet. I've used a giant vari kennel with him where his food and water is and he's willingly went in but coming out makes him nervous. So I have a 20 soft cotton horse lunge line at my kitchen door and a nice wide choke collar always on him ready to be attached to line. He will come out once the lead is on him because he knows he's going out. He also will come in his self if I'm out of site. The line is long enough to give him plenty of space to walk around and potty. He knows food and water are in kennel as well as a fresh beef rib bone which he loves. I'll give two fresh frozen ones with him. If you need a large dog friend and have dog behavior knowledge he would be a best buddy never forgotten. A special Angel. His fee will be decided appropriately. You also can make additional donations to this site and
