About Max

Max is available for foster transfer (Austin, TX area) OR adoption! Max is an athletic, intelligent, playful, goofy dog. He is the perfect age of 3 years old and is around 70 lbs. Max will do well with an adopter who is happy to take him on long nature walks, fetch with him, and teach him fun new cues (he has learned cues like stand, paw, roll over, spin, middle, and sit pretty). He loves puzzle toys, snuffle mats, tug, and fetch. He also loves to play and/or walk with other dog friends! Max loves to check it on his humans when they are home but will settle nicely either loose or in his crate when his humans need to leave for work. His ideal home would have a fenced yard or fetch area in a relatively quiet neighborhood. We think a confident dog sibling will continue to help him gain more confidence out and about, but he could have a happy life without a fur sibling provided he gets the walks with your friends' pups! Max would do best in a home with adults +/- older teens who can respect his space and manage his occasional, playful bouts of jumpiness and mouthiness. It is important Max's family understands the power of positive reinforcement training, and we will set you up with his training plan and supplies. Max will also come with a goody bag of enrichment toys, fetch toys, and former foster humans who would be more than happy to help out with a walk or round of fetch!
