Chuckie, a chocolate Miniature Schnauzer, recently arrived into rescue from a commercial breeding operation. He is estimated to be about 5 years old and weighs about 10 pounds. Chuckie is working on learning how to be a house pet. He is doing a great job mastering house training and likes to go outside into the fenced yard when he needs to do so. With love and patience he will learn all about being a beloved family member and have good housepet skills. He is still a little shy, but is starting to warm up to human attention. He gets along well with other small dogs and might do well with a dog buddy in his new home to help him learn about pet life more quickly. We will not adopt Chuckie into a home with young children since he has not been socialized and children can be too much for most of these small dogs. We would prefer a home with a fenced yard since Chuckie doesn't know about walking on a leash yet, and it will be a good way for him to explore his new world safely while perfecting his transition to being a house pet. An adults only home, or a home with older children, would be fine for Chuckie. We adopt within a three hour drive of Ft. Myers, Fl. Please call Anna if you are the right fit for Chuckie.
