About Daphne

This pretty little girl is Daphne! She is a precious, slender, long legged beauty who was surrendered to us with several other dogs out of a hoarding situation. Their owner is a very kind-hearted lady who loves dogs but got overwhelmed how many she had and reached out to us for help. Daphne is 18 months old and weighs 8.7 pounds. Much like her sisters Cocoa and Sarah Jane, she is a sweet girl, although she takes her time to observe and will approach you when she is ready. As she gets to know you she becomes more and more comfortable and will eventually jump in your lap or lie next to other dogs with you on the sofa. She is very quiet and lounges on dog pillows during the day. Daphne is good with other small dogs and would be happiest in a home with another dog to play and snuggle with. We are not sure how she would be with kids, but if there are kids in her home they should be older and calm. Younger kids will likely scare her. We have not tested her with cats. Daphne's housebreaking is a work in progress. She does not know how to walk on a leash, and needs a very secure fenced yard. She is a thin girl who can slip her way through a space in a fence easily! Daphne sleeps under the covers on the big bed at night. She has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12 ProHeart prevention shot, and is microchippped with a lifetime registration. Her spay will be scheduled at one of our vets soon and is covered by the rescue.
