About Mieka

Meet Mieka. A 6 month old German shepherd/ Belgian malinois mix, aka Shepinois. Mieka is a high prey, high energy pup who loves being outdoors. She loves fetching her ball and could do that for hours. She will need a nice sized yard to play and run off her energy.She is quite agile and might be able to jump over fences once she gets bigger. She currently does well staying in the electric fence around our yard. She loves long walks and would be great for hiking and LOVES to swim! She will need tons of training and will need to go to a home that is willing to put the time into training and re enforcing that training and so we ask that her new human be experienced with her breed. She would be great at agility or nose work which would help build this pups confidence. She has developed fear and is very nervous especially when meeting new people and dogs. She will bark and growl at other dogs she comes across on her walks which comes off as aggression but that is because she is very fearful. She has never attacked another dog. She currently lives with a senior German Shepherd that she does fine with. We also have a terrier/chihuahua mix that, though they play a ton together, she is very rough with and so she would do best in a home with no small dogs. I don't think she would do well with cats either. Mieka is quite the nipper, as most Malinois are and so she is best in a home with no small children since she will react to their running around and will chase after them and possibly nip them. Please note that she is quite the chewer so she needs to not be left unattended until she is well trained. She does love her bully sticks! She is crate trained; sleeps in her crate at night and spends quiet time in her crate. She is currently in a 42' crate and fits quite comfortably. She is also in her crate when we leave the house. Mieka is house broken. Mieka will make an amazing dog for those that are willing to put in the time to train her and giver enough mental stimulation. She loves her humans and is very affectionate once she feels comfortable with you and loves to get scratches, especially behind her ears. At the end of the day Mieka loves to jump on the couch and sit with her humans.
