Willow is an amazing, sweet dog. True to the lab in her, she LOVES treats! She is about 4 years old, and deaf - but a very eager learner! She loves 'wiggly thumbs' for a job well done - ALMOST as much as treats ;) She is very low energy overall, and a great car companion. She does get playful if solicited, and does need to work a little on pulling on the leash in new places to experience the smells and see the new things to see (she isn't terrible about it, but does pull somewhat in the beginning of the adventure). She is unphased by other dogs out in other yards, or passing her crate when she is crated, and has done very well with the other dogs she's greeted so far, with no signs of aggression, but has not been in an offleash play group or such yet. Overall, we anticipate she will do quite well. She will sometimes bark back if she sees another dog barking at her, but more apparently out of the pleasure of barking along, rather than any reactivity or ill intent. She has been friendly, polite, and tolerant of toddlers around her. She has not had a ton of exposure to young children, but did well on the interactions she has had so far with polite and calm toddlers. She was treated for an ear infection recently, and can be a little sensitive of having her ears lifted up to be looked in (but leans happily into it if we just rub the outer part of her ear without lifting it), so we think she could possibly have a history of ear infections, some which may have caused a sensitivity to having her ears lifted (which we are working on). She pulls away and gets a little uncomfortable with her ears being lifted at this time. Willow also comes with a free 8 week Beginner group training class at Diamond Dogs Training in Menifee for local adopters, which will help reinforce her hand signal and direction understanding with her new family. Willow is available for adoption, or local foster. She is a very sweet, loving, happy girl!
