Location: Arizona Small Dog Rescue facility 1102 W Hatcher Rd. Phoenix, AZ Open Tuesday-Sunday from 11am-6pm Barney is a bashful 2 �%BD year old Papillon/Chihuahua mix looking for his forever home! Barney is looking for a patient, mature, dog savvy home that is ready to give him all the time he needs to come around. Barney is very shy at first and needs people to take things slow with him. Once he knows you, he is so sweet and affectionate. His biggest fears are leashes/harnesses and collars. We have worked with him for a couple months and he allows people that he trusts to leash and harness him as long as they take their time and go slow. He will need his new family to continue getting him used to these and understand it will be a process and they cannot push him too fast. Barney will need a home with a securely fenced in yard for him to learn in as he should not go on walks until he's fully comfortable with the leash. He is a smart boy that is housebroken although he may need reminders and does piddle when he gets excited. He is very food motivated and knows 'sit, stay, and come.' Barney does okay with other calm small dogs in social settings but will be happiest as the only dog in the home with his person all to himself.
