About Max

Meet Max! He is a very handsome lab mix, about 2.5yrs old. Roughly 120lbs, he is a big boy who likes to play and sleep. While he is well potty trained, and good on a leash, he could definitely use additional training to address some behaviors: begging/stealing food, lots of barking at door/window, not listening. He is protective at first when new people arrive but warms up quickly. Other animals - he does well at dog parks and LOVES daycare. He does show dominance over our cat and growls and chases him so a home without cats may be best but he has never harmed a cat. Children - we are rehoming our sweet Max because he has exhibited aggressive behavior to our 5yr old daughter. Certainly not at all times, he's often super sweet with her and patient. But at other times he has snipped at her and growled on many occasions. This may be improved with training but I would NOT recommend him to a home with children. We are looking for either a loving home or an organization who can foster/rehome him.
