About Sally

German Shepherd mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Courtesy Listing: Sally is in need of foster or adopter as soon as possible. Sally needs our help, she was found as a stray eating from a dumpster behind a shopping center. The finder brought her to one of our local shelters where she was scanned and a microchip was found, Sally was very friendly and the finder was willing to watch her as temporary stray foster while we waited for the owner to contact us from the found pet report and be reunited. Sadly, when the owner on the microchip received our message she called us back to let us know she rehomed Sally privately 2 years ago after suffering from a permanent disability and gets frequent calls from good samaritans and shelters regarding her being found as a stray :| She was able to give us the new onwers contact information, and after speaking with him he informed us he has a large open property and while he has no desire to be assisted with secure fencing or supervise her outdoors, he agrees his living conditions may not be the best and safest place for Sally and not interested in taking her back :( Both the original and new owner are not able or interested in taking Sally in, and the temporary stray foster can only watch Sally for a short time which we completely understand. In an effort to help the shelter with space and avoid another dog facing euthanasia to make room for Sally, the former owner who is still registered as Sally's owner has agreed to surrender her to a rescue or grant custody to a caring owner through our supported rehoming program as a means of shelter intake intervention. Sally is a 7 year old spayed female German Shepherd who is very friendly and loves everyone with 2 or 4 legs. She has been examined by our vet and is in overall good health. We would like to help Sally find a place to call home through rescue, foster, or adoption. The stress of the shelter is no place for a sweet girl like this and keeping her out of the shelter allows us to manage space and avoid euthanizing animals due to space concerns.
