About Maci

Meet Maci (Mae Mae) Maci is a gorgeous girl. She was rescued, along with her Mama and siblings, by a caring couple from a very sad and dangerous situation. Mama dog is safe. Maci's siblings are safe in loving homes. Mama dog was adopted by her rescuers because she is so very ill, but they couldn't keep Maci due to their living situation. They knew we could find this girl a great home. And, that's what we are going to do! Maci is six months old. She's thought to be a Shar Pei/shepherd mix. She has a gorgeous fawn colored coat, adorable ears and intelligent and expressive eyes. She's lived in foster for several months since being rescued. She is crate-trained, but will need some consistent house-training. Maci has a lot of energy and LOVES to play. She loves other dogs. And, would do well with a doggie playmate. Maci likes people and kids and has been brought up to be social. Maci doesn't chase animals, like cats, but we'll test with kitties for potential adopters. Per her foster mom, Maci is just a big cuddle bug, one of the sweetest and cuddliest of puppers. She loves to snuggle. She's smart, affectionate, fun, and silly. She is an awesome young dog. Maci will do well with an active person or family. She travels well in a car and loves going on adventures. She's an incredible young pup, just waiting for her forever home. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
