About Chico

Meet Chico, our bestest boy! Chico has just submitted his nomination for BEST DOG OF THE YEAR AWARD 2021. While the jury's still deliberating, we're pretty sure this guy's gonna win! Chico has a kind soul, gentle manner and is very affectionate. He recently spent almost 200 days in a local shelter, becoming a staff and volunteer favorite. But he started suffering from the stress of the shelter and could sometimes be found trembling in his kennel. That's why IF DOGS decided to rescue him from the shelter and help him on his journey to a forever home. Chico is a happy boy, loves his stuffed toys, knows basic commands, walks well on a leash and loves brunch. Yes, you read that right. This boy is sophisticated and has manners for days. One brunch with Chico and you'll be hooked! Chico is currently living in a foster home where he is decompressing and learning to live life in a home. He is also starting his heartworm treatment that will be completed sometime from January to February of 2022, so he'll be available for adoption then. Chico seeks a quiet, loving environment where he can continue to become the best version of himself. Chico must live indoors with his new family and requires a home with no cats and no small children. If there's already a resident dog, Chico will do best with a calm female and proper dog introductions.
