I just didn't want to leave! I was found as a stray, taken home, then shoved/kicked out the door! 1 yr old Kiwi is set to be euthanized 10/2! Kiwi arrived at the shelter injured and bleeding from her wounds. It was reported that when the finder used their foot to shove Kiwi out the door she turned and bit, then she was attacked by other dogs. The person she bit has not responded to any requests for more details about the incident. Since arriving at the shelter Kiwi has been on the timid side in her kennel, do you blame her? She has been easily leashed and with some gentle coaxing will come out of her kennel for a walk to the yard. Kiwi has shown her soft side with staff while out in the yard. After enduring so much she was ready for some human affection. She climbed on the handler's lap for attention and enjoyed some gentle pets on the head. She wasn't so sure about all the chaos in the shelter and remained on handler's lap. She hasn't met any dogs at the shelter, so she will need to be safely kept separate or be your one and only. Kiwi may thrive in a quiet adult home that can show her she is welcome there and help build her confidence. She's hoping she will get a chance to learn what it's like to feel like she belongs and that she is wanted.
