Hi, there. My name is Mac and I'm a border collie mix who is about 5 years old and weighs about 45 pounds. I was kept chained up before making my way to a shelter. I was so scared there that I would stay curled up in ball in my kennel. Since coming to Augusta Dog Adoptions, I've gotten more confident and I'm ready to find my forever home! I'm looking for a patient new family who knows that I haven't had many advantages in life! I'll need time to adjust to new surroundings and training to learn how the world works. A securely fenced in yard is a must and another dog may make me feel more comfortable. I'm a smart, curious guy who likes to admire my foster mom from afar and approach her only to get snacks! My 'brother' Rex is also available for adoption but going to separate homes where we can get individual attention and training is likely the best for both of us. We are good boys! And are hoping for great families who will turn out luck around! Is it you? Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
