Courtesy Posting: PLEASE HELP US FIND A GOOD HOME, FOSTER, AND/OR RESCUE FOR DEAR BLANCO, A SLIGHTLY OLDER, HAPPY BOY WHO APPEARS TO BE A CHOW/AUSSIE MIX BLANCO - ID #A5428376 Downey Shelter, Downey, So Cal Blanco is a fun loving, slightly older dog whose owner sadly dumped at the Downey/LA County kill shelter saying he no longer had time for him. The shelter is very full and has sent a plea asking for his exit asap. Blanco was originally reported as an 8 year old chow by his owner, but the shelter has updated his main breed as an Australian shepherd which he more closely resembles. His tongue is all pink, but his is somewhat fluffy, including his tail. Blanco likes to smile for the camera and is easy to leash, weighs 63 lbs and was a devoted pet before. Blanco does have some clouding in his eyes and a bit of stiffness likely related to his age. He cruised around the play yard a bit on the slower side, and is a bit scared of other dogs so he prefers them to keep away. Therefore, it has been recommended he be an only dog. We have both his behavior and medical notes we can share. Blanco is adoptable through the Downey shelter by contacting them and pasting this listing link into your browser, For further information or interest in fostering or pledging towards his rescue, please also contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to assist the shelter with his placement. Further updates and information may also be found on his facebook post at:
