(DOB 5/14/21) Due to Coby's young age, he has not yet been neutered. For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC). Additionally, for socialization purposes, he is looking for a home with another dog-friendly dog. As a young 24 lb hound mix, Coby is a smart spunky guy. His sauntering swagger is endearing and just oozes cuteness. He is all boy and is a little bit country and a little bit sporty. He is always on the move and looking for every opportunity to play, play, play. He loves toys, and the bigger the toy, the better it is. He shares toys easily with his sister, but they do like to steal toys from each other to entice a game of chase. He learned the sit command quickly--he is very food motivated, so training does come easy. He rarely sits still but he loves attention and will often rollover for belly rubs before dashing off on his next adventure. He gets his protective bark on when he hears or sees someone or something he isn't familiar with. It's an endearing trademark but doesn't make him a good apartment dog. Besides, he has soooo much energy that he needs a yard to open up in and run his zoomies. Another playful dog in his home will keep him and you both happy. If no fenced yard, he needs an active family that is committed to walking him regularly. Too much idle time will lead to mischief. No cats for this guy either, they bring out his warrior spirit. He is in the process of losing his puppy teeth so chewing is a prime time activity. Everything goes in his mouth-fingers, toes, nose-and play mouthing and nipping is constant, so she is looking for a home with kids 10 and older. He just got his second puppy shot and is now able to go outside, so he is just starting his potty training. He is very good about going on the puppy pad inside. He is just now being introduced to the leash so he will need leash training in his future. As part of Coby's $275 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit is due at the time of adoption. The deposit will be refunded once the puppy has been altered.
