About Jax

Jax came to me 3 years ago when I was still operating my dog rescue. I pulled him from the shelter where he was absolutely terrified and his spirit was beat down. He then went to a potential adopter and got loose, it took me 3 weeks to catch him. Once I finally had him back I instantly fell in love with him and decided to keep him as a part of my family. I already had 4 dogs, including one male dog who doesn't usually get along with with other male dogs. They got along for 2.5 years until they got into a little scuffle one day and ever since then they cannot be in the same room. I absolutely adore Jax and would love for things to work out, but it has been 6 months and he is crated all the time. He is such a sweetie, but my other male dog cannot tolerate having him in the house. Jax is house trained, current on rabies vaccine, heartworm test negative, and eats a 100% raw food diet. He is shy with new people but warms up quickly with the right person. I request that any new pet parent of Jax allow me to still see him occasionally or at LEAST send me frequent pictures and updates in the beginning and then occasionally so I know he is doing well. I am in no rush to rehome Jax, and it breaks my heart to, but it is in his best interest in order for him to live a full and happy life. Jax requires a very secure fenced yard and a person who will supervise him while outside and never leave him unattended. If he gets loose he will not be easy to catch. He does love to run and burn off energy for a few minutes off leash in the yard every day, so a home without a fenced yard would not be suitable. Jax would do well in a home with or without other dogs. He loves to snuggle on his person and burrow under blankets. He can entertain himself just fine but also enjoys the company of another dog, and also has fun playing with cats. He is estimated to be around 6 years young and around 17 lbs.
