About Suma

Adoption Fee: $450
Lab / American Staffordshire Terrier
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

Hello beautiful souls, I'm Suma, an 11 years young, 65 lb, Lab/American Staffordshire Terrier mix. - I am the SWEETEST gal, with such a calm and cool energy, I am just happy to be loved and be with you. - Something must have happened to me before coming to HIT Living with men because I am much more comfortable around women than men. That doesn't mean I don't put my best paw forward with men, it just takes a few patient moments with a man for me to build trust. I am currently being fostered by a nice man and woman couple and have come around to my foster dad after a few days! - I am house trained, listen very well, and know my very basic commands. - I am still unsure about dog beds. I prefer to sleep on the floor because that's what I've known my whole life. My nice foster parents keep leaving this squishy square pad out next to me, but I use it as a nice head rest sometimes. - While I get along great with other dogs, and am currently being fostered with a pot belly pig and two other dogs, if I feel uncomfortable being around another dog (if that dog is being too forward in our meeting) I will growl. It is a perfectly normal way to communicate and so sometimes I will do that when a dog is being too eager to greet me to help them calm down. - I respond well to correction and trust knowing that the person I'm with has my back. As an older lady, I appreciate other calm, mild mannered and low energy dogs that match my own. - Don't let my age fool you, I am quite agile and can handle stairs beautifully and even go for mild hikes! I walk fairly well on a leash (could use a quick refresher) and have wonderful energy for a senior gal! If you see me online I am still available for adoption! If you are interested in adopting me please fill out an application here:, and email a video walkthrough of your home and yard to [email protected] Your application will not be counted as valid without your video. You will hear back from us within a few days.
