About Herbie

Adoption Fee: 300
Lab / Redbone Coonhound
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Update from his foster mom on 9/13: Herbie is a lab/coonhound/pointer mix, I believe. Definitely needs another dog in the home. Fenced yard or active family as he has a lot of energy. He would make a great running partner. He is a typical puppy, I have to redirect him to not chew on my stuff, so I'll give him a nylabone or a toy. Not completely housebroken. I have to put down puppy pads when I sleep, and he will use those. Slight separation anxiety, but he's getting better. I'm guessing it's due to him being moved around from home to shelter to us, then a 2 hour foster to adopt home that didn't work out, then back to me. He definitely needs stability and structure. I'm trying to do some training with him. He's very smart, motivated, and he's good in his crate. Name: Herbie Breed & Color: Chocolate Labrador/coonhound mix Age: 7-8 months Weight: 42lbs Sex: Male Spay/Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes How dog came in: Stray, Return Vaccine Status: UTD on DAP, Bordetella & Rabies Heartworm Test: Negative Personality: Herbie is a typical 6-8 month old puppy that hasn't yet learned manners. He's got enthusiasm and energy to spare. Herbie was adopted, but returned after only a week when the adopter decided he was 'too old to care for a puppy'. Herbie is going to be a great dog, he just needs an outlet for his puppy energy, and an adopter who understands that he just doesn't know any better yet. Herbie is super friendly and social. Medical conditions: No known medical conditions. This little boy is just an energetic puppy that needs training, a fenced yard and a playmate...if you are interested in giving this handsome boy a forever home. He is doing well with the other large dogs and cats in the foster home. He will need an energetic, strong person that can handle him on a leash as he pulls, but he seems smart and eager to learn. Obedience training is a must to continue. He barks loud and howls, so apartment living is not ideal for him. He needs room to run and play, and someone to interact with him daily. Please fill out an adoption application on our website www.rescueangelssomd.com. If listed, he is still available.
