About Oskar

Adoption Fee: $150.00
Lab
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Oskar is a very affectionate, energetic silly, smart handsome lab. He is strong, fit and physically healthy. He was born January 2016. He is 50 lbs. He has all his shots up to date and has been getting regular teeth cleanings. He is microchipped. He takes a flea and tick preventative. He has also been tested regularly for heartworms and is negative. We feed him Nutro Ultra adult dog food. He eats clean. No table scraps or junk. Once in a while he enjoys a frozen peanut butter kong. He loves to fetch, take walks and cuddle. He knows commands of sit, stay, paw, down, nice, off, no, drop it. He knows the command of come but is not reliable. We walk him in areas that are not crowded or with minimal dogs around. He walks well with no distractions, not so well when dogs are around. He needs behavioral training for it. He is anxious/fearful and a bit skiddish with certain things. He's not a fan of storms. He is not destructive with belongings and plays and chews on his own toys only. He is crate trained and house trained. He has had an unhealthy attachment to me. He favors females but is not particular with who he will give affection to as long as he feels safe. You need to make sure to say 'drop it' before taking anything away. Do not just grab it from him, he may bite. We are trying to find him a home because he bit my adult son on the hand when I was out of town and I did have him go to the emergency room. Oskar was reported for the bite. He has also given me a nip without warning when I wanted him to leave my room and came near him when he wouldn't move. I feel personally that a single active female preferably, or a single male might be a best fit. There have been a couple of times he would guard me against my husband so if a couple is interested I think that is important to know. I think someone who has the financial resources for behavioral training is vital. I do not want to have him euthanized which has been suggested to me. I cannot keep him anymore though.
