About Bandit

Sadly, our family needs to re-home beloved Bandit due to an unforseen major life change in circumstances. We got him from Craigslist in El Paso where they raised him from a puppy, but had to re-home him because they discovered their child was allergic to dogs and they were downsizing. He was very fearful when we got him, but over time, with patient training and lots of love, he's grown to be the happy, confident, well-behaved dog I hoped he could be. His birthday is 11.28.19 and we got him the day after he turned one year, so now he's 20 months old. He's around 60#, so he's on the smaller/intermediate size for a 'large' dog. We presume he is a Golden Lab/Pitbull mix, due to his fawn color and strong jaw/square head shape. He has gorgeous light brown eyes with black eyeliner and lovely bronze toenails. He is quite handsome! We have a 6 year old son and 3 year old daughter and he has been excellent, calm, loving and cuddly with them. No nips or anything like that. He isn't fond of my husband for whatever reason and growls when he comes in the room and cowers when called, but he does mind him well. His previous owner said he is more comfortable with women. He is great around my 12 year old cat and was raised with a German Shepard puppy that he likes to rough-house with. He is not aggressive with other dogs. He is leash-trained and has taken basic obedience training at Acoma training center and he does beautifully. I make him sit at every curb, before coming out of his crate and before passing through all doorways. He has learned how to have very good manners. I have taken him to Lowe's and Home Depot for socialization and offer treats to people to give him, which he takes very gently and soft-mouthed. He is in good health, current on all vaccines, heart-worm prevention and flea and tick prevention medications. He is microchipped. He comes with a handful of gear, toys, crate, food, etc, so you'll be off to a great start with your new dog. Asking $100 for a rehoming fee, but most important is that he goes to a good home that is the right fit for him.
