About Gauge

Meet Gauge!! This stunning guy was adopted as a puppy several years ago. His adopter told all her friends she found him a new home but in reality she dumped him and her other dog off like trash into a full kill shelter without telling us. How she cared so little about this awesome dog is baffling. All of our dogs always have a safe place back here with us. Sadly the adopter knew this and instead risked both of the dogs lives unnecessarily... Thank God for the microchips giving us a chance to save them! Gauge is a beautiful 5 year old, male Pitbull. He weighs 66 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He is also heartworm negative. Gauge loves all people and would do well with respectful children. He likes meeting new people and getting lots of attention. He is crate trained and does very well crated. He will go in nicely if you ask him to. He rides great in the car and will jump up into the car when asked. He does good on a leash but pulls some when excited. He has done fantastic with potty training. He takes treats gently and is a super sweet boy. He sits and shakes on command. Gauge has a medium energy level. He's a bit hype at times but also has no problems being left home during a full work day. He loves plush toys and tug o war. He is a really fun loving dog and would be great with a family that enjoys having an active dog to play with but also needs a dog that's fine being left home while working. He's a great mix of energy and relaxed. He can get overstimulated out in public and his brain turns off. He gets very hyped up and forgets how to act. He would be a better dog for someone who isn't looking for a dog to go everywhere with them. He's wonderful and well behaved in a home setting. Gauge has a Conor Mcgregor personality when it comes to other dogs. He will walk by and ignore them but the second a dog squares off with him or tries to start something he's ready to throw down. We hate that for him because so many will pass him over for adoption ���z He has lived with other dogs but we don't think it's the best idea for him as any disagreement could potentially turn into a fight. He has never been aggressive toward people. While we do think it's best that he be the only dog in the home we know he will make someone very happy. If you're looking for just one dog please consider giving him a chance. We hope someone will still choose this sweet boy to spend their life with. He will repay you with love and laughs!
