Antonio, 4-year-old, neutered, blue and white American Pit Bull Terrier: Antonio is very stressed in his kennel and is exhibiting high levels of frustration and anxiety. His previous owner said that Antonio got along with the dogs in the home but liked to play rough and was protective of his food. During his dog introduction at the shelter, Antonio primarily avoided the other dogs in the yard. Antonio allowed all handling at his intake into the shelter and walked well on a leash. He has been friendly with staff, seeking out attention and allowing petting. The shelter recommends that Antonio has an experienced adopter, that he be an only dog, and that he meets all family members. If an adopter has a dog, the shelter requires a dog introduction. The shelter also requires that children in the home be 12+.
