About BUTTER

***NEEDS FUREVER HOME*** Currently in Pocatello, ID Meet BUTTER ! She is a 2-3 year old, long-legged, slim ~55-pound cattle dog/pitbull mix that lost her home and FFAR rescued her. After months in boarding, BUTTER entered a foster home just before Christmas and is loving home life! She is absolutely sweet to all humans, loves to cuddle, good with kids, and is intensely loyal. She is people and food-motivated and will do anything for a treat! Her recall is great, especially when treats are involved, and she knows 'come', 'sit', down' and 'crawl' really well-we are working on 'wait', 'stay', 'shake', 'dance', and 'leave it'. She thrives on routine and loves walks or runs in the morning even if it's just a short outing. She's very loving and cuddly but stays off the couch and bed unless invited up. Very well-behaved and eager to please! She is totally house-trained and lets you know if she needs to go out once she knows where she's supposed to go. She does well in the kennel when left alone. One of the best things about her is the full-body wiggling when her human comes home! She loves walks and hikes and is getting bolder as she gets settled, so we are making sure she keeps good leash manners. Toys are also a favorite, she likes tennis balls, tug of war, and fluffy toys to cuddle with. Our next big thing to work on is socializing with other dogs after a bad previous experience. So far she has interacted well with brief on-leash encounters. She is doing well around other dogs in neutral spaces and on walks, but definitely very owner protective and gets aggressive in other dogs territory/homes She is spayed, current on vaccines, and will be microchipped for her adopter.
