About Bear

Bear is a 3(ish) year old Australian Shepherd. He had some struggles during his 10 months in a shelter, but has been a model citizen while in our care, and has adjusted to the house life quite well. At 40 lbs, the perfect size to join you for outdoor activities. This dog just couldn't possibly get any cuter or sweeter. As with most aussies, he LIVES for his person. All he wants is to be next to you cuddled up, getting pets, and pleasing you. He's absolutely smart as a whip. Would be a blast to teach tricks! He picked up house training easily. He goes in his kennel on command. He has willingly accepted any dog he's met which ranged from the age of 1 to 14 years old. He's very playful, and loves to run, but is also capable of chilling out when he's in the house. Honestly I could go on and on about how great this guy is. As with many aussies, he does have a touch of a possessive side. Not so much with toys or food, but with 'his' person. If quickly nipped in the bud, this won't be a problem, but it is something to be aware of. He also has a tendency to be mouthy in his play. As long as he has clear boundaries, this hasn't been a problem. Bear is Fully vetted (Neutered, Vaccinated, Microchipped, and HW Negative). He is on Heartworm, Flea, and Tick prevention. He is house and crate trained. He does well with dogs and cats. He is mouthy and would not do well with children younger than 12. His ideal home is an active family without children who are looking for a loyal and playful companion. He requires a fenced yard. He is located in Cleveland, TN. There is an adoption fee.
