About Malbec

Malbec Tells the Tale of Tails... It was not that long ago that I was living in the county shelter. The volunteers and staff loved me. They said it did not matter that I had a funny bump on my tail or that I was a 7 year old guy with sore ears. I waited day after day for a family to look into my big brown eyes and know how much I could love them. But no one ever picked me. One day, I heard someone say I was on the 'e-list'. I don't know why that made everyone so sad because soon after that a wonderful lady came to the shelter and took me to a very beautiful place. They had a vet there who said that my tail with the funny bump needed to be amputated, and I needed another bump removed from my leg. That didn't sound fun, but the best part was that they helped my ears to not be so sore... hallelujah! I had gone a very long time with my ears hurting so bad. It felt so good to get them cleaned up! After my surgery I went to live with a very nice foster family. I am still recovering and must wear a big, silly cone, but my foster mom says that soon I can take it off. I'm also happy to report I don't even miss my tail because I have a cute little nub and I like to wiggle it like crazy! I am doing my best to be a good boy in my foster home, and my foster mom says I'm 'crushing it'...whatever that means. I sleep in my crate at night, and I always wait to go outside to potty. I'm even behaving around my foster brother who happens to be a cat! I should also mention that I really, really love treats! If you even think about a treat, I will sit. I am that good. I am learning to 'leave-it' and 'stay', too. Sometimes I get the zoomies and like to chase my big tennis ball around the yard, but mostly I love to cuddle. Do you like to cuddle, too? My foster mom says that I am such a gentle and sweet boy that when I find my forever family, they will be so lucky to have me! I will need to meet any potential dog brothers or sisters. If I must have one, I'd prefer that they be calm and mellow just like me. My family will also need to help take care of my ears and make sure I get my daily medications. Now that I know how great it feels to have no more aches and pains, I would really like to keep feeling good. My foster family says I deserve the best, most lovingest forever family out there.
