Cookie was rescued off the street where she showed signs of having been abused/neglected. After some time she was rehomed with her elderly mom. Unfortunately, her mom suffered a stroke and has become increasingly ill and can no longer live alone. Cookie loves being with her person and is very snuggly. She prefers to be your only love and is interested in her outdoor cat sibling but doesn't openly try to lunge/chase with supervision. She takes food by hand very gently, but can guard her bowl or dog food; however, responds to a stern voice redirection. She'll sit, lie down, and give either paw, but otherwise doesn't like her feet messed with. She loves snuggling up to watch movies and will follow her person everywhere. She has a crate she sleeps in, but does become reactive if you try to shut the door. She is house trained and won't bother things that don't belong to her and just prefers quality time to any kind of toy. She is afraid of storms and can climb, so is best supervised outside. She'd be best with a calm home with older teens or adults that can understand her past and boundaries. I cannot emphasize enough how much she is loved and has loved her elderly mom. She also is great for alerting when someone is arriving and will shower visitors with love and jumps. She deserves to find a new home to live out her days, but fear she will be put down if she cannot find a home by 7/20 given her unique needs and would do poorly at a shelter.
