About Alabama

Hi, y'all. I'm Alabama, I'm a 7 year old, 45lb black lab and I am looking for a sweet home of my own to live out my golden years. - I am the SWEETEST gal, with such a calm and cool energy, I am just happy to be loved and be with you. - Speaking of happy, my tail is always wagging (It's my very own way of grinnin' like a possum!). When you walk into the room or look at me, my tail goes crazy! - I don't ask for much-just my own bed and some quality time with my human best friend. I would be a great match for someone looking for a calm companion who doesn't need much to keep me happy. -I'm a true lady, maybe even too submissive, but that's just because I wasn't treated very well, and just want to please my human. I need someone to work with me on my confidence a bit and show me that I am LOVED, so I can blossom into the southern belle I'm meant to be! - I am being fostered in a home with kids now and love them (as long as they pet me). I really don't have a mean bone in my body! -I could use a little help walkin' on a leash. I was kept in a yard all my life (How's that for southern hospitality!?) where I was pretty neglected, so I've never learned how to! With that being said, I'd love a home with a yard so I can get my exercise and go potty while I learn the leash life! **I'm scheduled to have ear surgery because I used to get ear infections and my previous owner never got them treated. So now, I need to get both of my ear canals removed and will be deaf. Luckily my dear new friends at HIT are taking care of it, but I'll need my new family to help me recover.
