Courtesy Listing: Can anyone adopt, foster, or rescue Gizmo? Outta the Cage did a 'Good Sam' for Gizmo, taking him to a private veterinarian for care that the shelter clinic was unable to provide. Gizmo had growths removed from his belly that were caused by the sun. He has been given the 'all clear' from the vet (clear chest x-ray, clear spleen, clear lymph nodes, surgery site healing, blood work normal...), so we know he's a healthy boy and ready for a home! Though we boarded Gizmo at the vet, it was just so he could get extra attention and regular walks while he healed up from surgery. But now we must return him to the shelter. Can anyone foster Gizmo for the summer? Though he's been fine (in fact, goofy) with other dogs, we would prefer an only-dog home with a yard where he can decompress from 4 months in a shelter. (He pulls a little on leash, but not excessively, preferring to stop and sniff a lot.) Teachers off for the summer? Parents working from home 'til the kids go back to school? Hit me up! ('Ooooooh, we LOVE LOVE LOVE Gizmo!' said a receptionist when I checked on him today.) We have to return Gizmo to East Valley shelter on Tuesday. And by 'we,' I mean 'me.' I can handle a lot of things in rescue, but seeing a dog who's experienced 10 days of love and TLC walk back into an animal shelter sort of breaks me. Please PM me if you can foster or adopt this happy, HEALTHY boy!
