GORGEOUS SHEPHERD GIRLS LOOKING FOR THEIR PERFECT HOME Once upon a time, a few months ago, 2 yr. old Daphne and Alexis lived under a porch with little to no human contact. They may have been given food and water on occasion, but that's it. No human interaction or adoration, no ear scratches, no toys, no car rides, no kind words. They were literally pulled out by county animal control. Frozen in fear, they refused to walk on their own. Daph & Ali would not have been adopted and they would not have survived the shelter environment. Their world changed when Almost Home Dog Rescue NC became aware of their plight, Bring in the humans, with love, patience and helper dogs, these girls are opening like spring flowers after a rain. Daph & Ali have been health checked, bathed (major necessity), exercised, and shown all the kindness and patience in the world. Step by step, on their own time, these beautiful dogs are being rehabilitated. They have learned our routine, leash walking, taking treats from humans, showing tail wags and play bows. They are close to readiness for their next BIG step, a forever home. But it won't be just any home. To adopt this bonded pair, the following is required: - Time, patience and gentle leadership. Daph & Ali need to continue their training and interactions with humans multiple times per day. - A calm, quiet, predictable home. - A large, secure 6ft. fenced-in yard. - Access daily to a friendly, confident 'helper' dog. - Willingness to work hand-in-hand as partners with Almost Home Dog Rescue NC on training, enrichment and continuing the development of these girls' confidence and social skills. Please know that the application process will be extensive. It will involve several visits to them and several visits of them to you.
