UPDATED BIO 09/19/2021: Little Max continues to be a sweet and loving little boy. He loves to be the center of attention in his home, and for this reason, his foster parents feel he needs to be the only dog in the home so that he can receive all the attention! Max is very friendly and affectionate. He loves to be petted and will bump your hand with his paw for attention if he feels he is not getting enough - how sweet is that? He loves to lie on the sofa next to his person, he is very sociable with people and loves to follow his foster mom around the house. Max takes treats nicely and enjoys play time. Max appears to love bath time and stands very still and doesnt whine when Foster Mom bathes him sweet! He is such an easy little boy - he is happy at night in bed with his bone. He will chew on it for a while and then lay down and go to sleep. Max is still not a fan of riding in the car. He will stand up the whole time in a frozen position and whine a bit poor little guy. This handsome fella still needs a little more help and reinforcement in the house-training department. It is important that he be taken out often to do his business. Max will bolt if an outside door is left open, so he needs to go into a forever home that is aware of this possibility and make sure all doors are securely closed at all times when Max is free in the house. Max does not need a fenced yard, but it would be a bonus if his adopters have one, Max would sure love it. Max has some separation anxiety when he is left alone, therefore a home with at least one stay-at-home parent is what this little fella needs. He enjoys frequent walks and walks nicely while on the leash. Max still needs a little more help and reinforcement in the house-training department. It is important he be taken out often to do his business. Max is so ready for his forever home. He has had all his vaccinations and bloodwork completed. It was found that Max is in the early stages of kidney disease, but he is doing great with the proper kidney low protein dog food which he will need for the rest of his life. The cost of his RX kidney care food is $53.00 for an 8/5 lb bag, which will last for many months. Dogs like Max with this diagnosis who receive consistent vet care and proper diet can live many more years.
