About Hoosier

Hoosier is a purebred border collie. Almost 5 years old-born 8/8/16. He is from Indiana (hence name) born to Linda La Master who breeds only border collies on small farm. Hoosier was the last puppy in his litter of 10 when we adopted him. He was fearful from the moment we got him - hiding in the corner of a barn. He has been an amazing companion for us. Unfortunately, he has never liked kids. Our hope was that when we had our own child(ren) he would grow with the baby and befriend our child. We had a baby 9 months ago and the older and more active our baby gets, the more Hoosier seems to dislike the baby - snarling, nipping (very occasionally), and never allowing the baby to get near him. As our baby grows we also are bringing more children into our home (play dates) and Hoosier's fear of these kids is much worse. For safety of our child and children coming into our home we cannot risk anything. He is scared of dogs but has proven to love dogs as long as he is introduced slowly and safely. If you have a home with no kids Hoosier can be a great dog for you!!!
