About Maggie and Lawrence

Maggie (left) and Lawrence (right) are very shy but sweet New Zealand mixes who are approximately 2-3 years old and closely bonded. They unfortunately had a tough start as they were rescued from a severe rabbit hoarding situation and had both been over-bred. They are now both spayed and safe at the Hoppery Rabbit Rescue and waiting patiently for their forever home together! Maggie and Lawrence will require a patient and gentle family (most likely rabbit experienced) who understands their timidness as a result of their past and their limited interaction with people. They have already become much more comfortable during the past month at our rescue and will now allow gentle pets and no longer hide when we enter the room and so I feel in time that will progress even more with a loving family of their own to nurture them! They do not show any signs of aggressive nature or behavior to people whatsoever just shyness. Their bond is so sweet and enjoyable to watch as they love to cuddle and groom each other. They also love toys and treats and are very low-maintenance. They do well together but both show signs of territorial nature still to other bunnies so they should be the only bunnies in the home or at least in their own area. The Hoppery Rabbit Rescue does required that adopters house rabbits indoors only and in either an exercise pen or free roam in a home/rabbit specified room as small cages/hutches are not suitable for rabbits. Adopters must be willing to fill out an adoption application and if approved/selected an adoption fee of $150 helps to cover some of the cost of their spay surgeries. The Hoppery Rabbit Rescue is located in Concord, NC right outside of Charlotte but we are willing to travel within an hour or two for his perfect home! I cannot wait for these precious girls to find their forever home I know is out there somewhere! They are so deserving after all they have been through.
