About Honey

Pit Bull
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Honey has a family who loves her deeply, which makes rehoming her a heartbreaking experience for all, especially the kids. They are forced to give her up due to an unfortunate incident with a neighbor's dog. Honey managed to climb the fence into the neighbor's yard and get into a fight with their dog, resulting in a vet visit. She needs help learning to curb her reactivity to some strange dogs, but she is an absolute love when it comes to people and her dog-sibling! Once you've experienced a HONEY-HUG, you'll never want to let go! This honey of a dog is a rare find! Honey is a happy dog who enjoys meeting all people; she just sometimes needs reminders not to jump on them out of love and excitement. She is not nervous around anyone and adores kids! She is a solid 70 pounds, so kids eight and older are best, although she has been living with younger children. She is smart and knows all her basic commands (sit, stay, come, down, paw, and even sit pretty). Honey loves her Boston Terrier dog-brother but needs more work on her reactivity to strange dogs, so living in a low dog traffic area would be a plus. She has lovely manners with people and in her home. She is absolutely adorable when she eats because she sits down and eats like a lady! She's not destructive and has no resource guarding - she shares all her toys, food, and bones. Also, her vet reports she's an excellent patient. Honey is a moderately active 4-year old, 70-pound female pittie, and such a pretty one at that. She loves to walk, go for car rides, and run around but is also happy to lounge on her dog bed. She loves swimming in human pools and lounging in her dog pool. Her favorite thing to do is play with her dog-brother, a Boston Terrier, but playing along with and cuddling her two human brothers (ages 6 and 11) is a close second. Honey would make the most amazing addition to a family that can meet her needs mentioned above, provide her lots of love and a safe backyard. She is house-trained, crate-trained, microchipped, up-to-date on all shots and heartworm prevention. Applications must be submitted online: https://popememorialcvhs.org/adoption-application/.
