His friends call him 'Dice' while his foster mom prefers Andrew. This senior (15 years young) gentleman came from a neglectful household. Due to this neglect, he has special toenails, a dramatic Harry Potter scar and a wonky pep to his step. These physical traits add to his charisma and do not significantly affect his quality of life. Andrew is extremely food motivated. His priorities in life are food, followed closely by treats, sunbathing in the backyard, and finding cubby holes to nap in. Fill toys with treats and you will have hours of entertainment watching him figuring out how to eat them. Pros of having Andrew in your life: - Adorably dorky - Calm, mellow personality - 100% quiet, does not bark or whine. Might dramatically sigh when relaxing in your lap. He likes short, slow walks a few times a week - Speckled tummy skin - Wonderful with other dogs - Kennel and leash trained. Andrew's special needs: - He is not housebroken but is potty pad trained. He prefers or needs to urinate about once an hour (old man with a small bladder). He uses a potty pad 100% of the time once the location of the pad is established. While establishing his pee pad spot it would be best to pull up any rugs. He will use the backyard if given access, but Andrews foster home did not have a doggy door. With training on a doggy door it may not be necessary to keep pee pads in place. He does not mark on furniture or other items. Andrew gets so excited about treats and has quite the gator chomp. Unfortunately, due to his upbringing he was never taught to be gentle with his mouth during treat time. This behavior has improved in his foster home but needs ongoing training. He does not bite as a form of aggression; he just is overly excited about getting hand fed treats. Because of this, he is looking for an adult only home. - He has car anxiety and may whimper or vomit while in transport.
