Coop is a 1.5 year old husky/pit mix per the shelter and weighs 76 pounds. He came to the shelter as an owner surrender. His previous owner said Coop did well with older children and dogs, but had no exposure to cats. Coop was described as friendly, active, and housebroken. After initially being scared and nervous when he first arrived at the shelter, he has warmed up very quickly and became quite bouncy and playful with staff after a bit of baby talk. He is very tolerant of handling and likes to jump up in your lap to solicit attention. Coop does also love toys, but has hovered over one after it was dropped on the floor and low growled. Staff was able to redirect his attention easily, but it appears he may not like to share his toys. Unfortunately, Coop also has a bite, which was minor, over a human taking away food. Coop did give a warning signal by growling before escalating to a bite. Coop did well for his veterinary exam and has done wonderful for socialization with staff. He also appears to be socially interested in other dogs, but should definitely be properly introduced to other dogs to ensure they get along well.
