About Coop

Coop has been with us for 6 long months. Who will give this pup a loving foster or forever home without little humans? Dear diary, Your buddy Coop here. I hope 2022 will be MY year to find a forever home. I am just a young lad and had lived my life with my family for 16 months before they decided to surrender me to a shelter in May of this year. I was in danger of being euthanized there but thankfully my friends at AAHA had an open spot at the kennel and decided to save me. Boy, am I thankful to them! Anyway, it's been a few months now and sadly I have not gotten much interest from adopters. What am I doing wrong? I know my looks are confusing. I don't look husky enough for husky lovers but also not pittie enough to draw attention from the bully crowd. So somehow I am stuck in the middle and don't quite know where I fit I have a lot of friends here at the kennel but the days are long and the nights are lonely when you see your other friends come and go. Of course I am happy for them. They all deserve the best and the loving homes that they find but it leaves me wondering if my perfect home is out there? I would love to spend the holidays in a foster or forever home. I hope someone gives me a chance soon. I am not even 2 years old and weigh 76 pounds. My friends here at AAHA say that I bond to my people quickly. Sometimes I am a bit anxious in new situations and need encouragement from my friends that everything will be ok. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE when the walkers come by every day because I know it means I get my walkie and I LOVE my leash walks and yard time tremendously! I did not live with a dog in my prior home but show dog friendliness so a furry sibling is an option. My perfect home would have a fenced yard and no little human children as their sudden movements would probably scare me. I am super duper smart and pick up basic commands well. I pass my time here at the kennel with puzzles and Miss Marianne's famous chicken. Boy, do I love that yummy stuff My friends say I have responded well to training. I promise I will be loyal to whoever gives me my furever home. Would you please give me a chance to show what a good boy I am? Pretty please???
