There is something truly magical about Lizzy. She has endured so much pain caused by cruel people in her past, yet somehow never lost her love for human companionship. Lizzy is a 3-4 year old, 33 pound, mixed breed with a wonderfully kind soul. When she was a youngster a group of horrible people used her affectionate nature against her by tying her to the railroad tracks just to see if the train would cut off her legs. She was only able to partially free herself before the train got to her, costing her a hind leg and part of her tail. We are hoping to get a prosthetic for her one day, but for now she gets along pretty well! When she sees a squirrel in the yard or hears a cheese wrapper in the kitchen, she can fly! She scoots along most of the time as a matter of convenience, but she will use her other back leg when motivated. Lizzy loves playing with her toys, watching birds out the window, and basking in the sun. She is a quiet, laid-back gal, but will 'talk' when she wants attention. She will need some modifications to make her life easier: cushy dog beds, extra throw rugs, an easy path over concrete when going inside or out, and no stairs. Unfortunately for now, she will not be the companion you take for a run or long walk in the park. She will however, be a loyal and loving addition to your family for years to come, melting the hearts of everyone who crosses her path! Let's show Lizzy that there are more good people in the world than bad. In just a short time, she will have you wrapped around her paw, and you will never want to let her go.
