About Calypso (Caly, Lippie)

Caly is a 2yo corgi, looking for her perfect match. This girl needs an active home that can provide her with the individual attention she desires. She is the sweetest, smartest girl, but she hates living in a hectic multi-dog home. She would much prefer to have people and resources to herself. Caly is sensitive, and undoubtedly delt with some abuse in her former home. She can flinch if approached with a hand too quickly and barks if you raise your voice or make clapping/slapping sounds. Caly does resource guard but is not a bite risk. She drops her resource and comes to her human quickly when given the cue 'trade'. Caly knows how to sit, down, hand target, go to mat, wait at doorways, wait for dinner, recall off leash and walk nicely on leash. Caly would likely excel in any sport, discipline or activity. She is eager to please, toy and food motivated and generally confident around new things. That said, her very favorite activity is undoubtedly cuddling and snuggling. This dog has to be allowed on furniture- she would be miserable if she couldn't spend quality downtime with her people. Requirements: - No children under 12 (she is good with kids, but because of her sensitivity and resource guarding, we believe it's best she doesn't live with young kids) - Only one other dog, only of older and low energy. Caly is very dog social but doesn't like crazy energy in her space and will guard toys and food if she is stressed. - Must have an active lifestyle and willingness to include Caly in activities. - Must have experience with active breeds, ideally herding dogs, and be willing to continue her training. - Must be willing to stay is occasional contact with current owner, as Caly is tremendously loved and will be very missed.
