Handsome Tennyson is an absolutely dear kitty man who as pictured took shelter in an elderly lady's Azaleas and Tulips until her granddaughter contacted me and asked if I could take him in as a rescue. On April 18th the granddaughter delivered Tennyson to me. From the minute she opened her car door Tennyson looked up at me from his carrier and began meowing his story and begging for attention. Once released in my downstairs bedroom, he immediately twirled around my legs with his fluffed tail held high in the air. A ravenous eater at first, it was clear he was unsure as to when he might receive his next meal, but being the polite gent that he is, Tennyson always preened for attention and pets in advance of devouring his food. He has now been neutered, rabies and distemper vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and treated for fleas. Tennyson has also been combo tested and is negative for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus. His gray coat is now super silky and soft although he does still have two small remaining tummy mats that need to be removed. This big boy who now weighs 12 pounds loves to show off his tummy as he is a belly upper. He will flop on the floor and roll over for tummy tickles. Tennyson remains a talker. I am not sure if he thinks I do not remember his story from the first day we met, if he is telling me more of his story or if he is giving me directions, but he is a chatterer. While his photo does not clearly show his tail, it is fluffy and sports a stripped pattern similar to that of a raccoon. He appears to be a Maine Coon/Domestic Mix and has been age estimated by the Vet who performed his neuter to be approximately two years old. His large paws sport white mitts in front and white boots in the rear. Tennyson's beautiful green eyes are always expressive and searching for love. He has met my personal kitties and while shy he has been receptive to them. Likewise he has met my personal dogs and while somewhat apprehensive of them, he is interested in becoming friends. Since his rescue Tennyson is enjoying all the perks of life on the inside. The only thing lacking in his life is a person to call his very own; one with whom he can share his travel tales and make new memories. If you would like to assist this gentlemen in authoring his new tales, please feel free to contact me. I do when possible like to receive a vet reference for potential adopters.
