CHLOE is one of a litter of puppies found living with their mom at an empty house. Our vet thinks they were born in late February. Their mother is a yellow lab/lab mix and, from Chloe's looks, we think her dad was a lab, too. Because she had no human contact for the first 7 or 8 weeks of her life, Chloe is behind in her socialization. She shies away when you reach to pet her and cowers and sometimes growls when cornered. (She is fearful, NOT aggressive.) She needs an adopter or adopters who have LOTS of time to spend with her over the coming months, working patiently and consistently with her to get her comfortable with people and new situations, as well as leash, crate- and house training her. If you are gentle, patient, live a quiet life style and work from home / are retired or have a nonworking/stay-at-home spouse and no small children, you would be a good candidate to adopt Chloe. A fenced yard is a MUST (no apartment/condo complexes) and another well trained dog that's young enough to enjoy Chloe's enthusiasm for playing with other dogs is highly desirable. Chloe is up to date on puppy vaccines, has been wormed and is on monthly heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $175. For more information or an application, email Save the Strays.
