Pip is a 5 year old Beagle and Australian Shepherd Mix. He weighs 42 pounds. Pip is a nice boy and has good house manners. He may look like a Beagle but his personality is all Aussie. Pip loves to play, his favorite game is fetch. He requires a physically fenced yard to run and play safely. Pip had a long journey to get to his foster home here in Iowa. He is alive today because a group of volunteers pulled him from the Carrollton, Texas shelter before his time there was up. Pip has been bounced around a lot. He left an owner, went to a shelter, moved to boarding, then moved to a foster home in Texas, then traveled for 3 days to reach his foster in Iowa. Because Pip has been bounced around so much he is an unsure about many things. Pip would do well with another calm, confident dog in his home. He definitely looks to another dog to see what he should do in situations where he is isn't sure. Because Pip is an Aussie at heart, his forever home should not have young children, they make him nervous because they are unpredictable. Pip views cats as squeakers so should not live with them. He also thinks vacuum cleaners and lawnmowers are out to get him. Pip is a very loving dog who needs an experienced owner who will give him time to settle in and blossom. Pip is housetrained, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped.
