About Sandi

Lab mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Currently in foster in Olympia, Washington. SANDI is a sweet dog but hasn't had a lot of TLC. She is affectionate but a bit timid. She loves attention but hasn't been in a house very much. She proves to be house trained from when she spent the night in the house on the rainy/stormy nights. She gets along with other dogs but is cautious/defensive at first. Once she trusts, she gets along just fine. She would not do well with an Alpha dog. While in my house she left the cats alone (I have 5). She does bark at them outside but mostly because the other dogs are barking. She is fine with older children but is not at the point for fetching the ball or playing tug-of-war. She will enjoy the long walks and the adventures on hikes. She is low energy but strong and capable of hikes and long walks. She is 57#s but does NOT look like it. She is an average medium-sized dog. We put Sandi's age at 1 to 1.5 yrs. She did come to us with a litter of 2 that have already been adopted. I named her Sandi after the wonderful lady that saved her and brought her to me. We put Sandi as a Lab/Border Collie mix. Sandi needs a sweet, loving home that will make her part of the family and show her the wonderful life she deserves. She has not been crated because she has been an outside dog most of her life. During the rainy/stormy nights she was lose in my house and did not get into any trouble. She could be good in an apartments/condo if someone is home most of the time and can get her out for exercise and activity. If you have any questions, text me... 210-394-6060. SHANYE'S FOSTERS is a group of foster parents in the Olympia/Tumwater area. We foster dogs for rescues and assist them in adopting/rehoming of their pups/dogs by listing on this site. Many dogs posted here are available to pre adopt NOW directly from the rescue. The only ones in foster in the NW specifically state that. We have very few fosters so most need to be pre adopted. All adoption fees go towards rescuing more dogs in need. No one receives a salary. Shayne's Fosters is not responsible for any experience you have with any dog you might see posted on this site. They are the property of the sponsoring rescue who will supply all medical supporting records which is given with each dog when adopted. Our adoption fees cover all medical costs to make sure the pups are appropriately vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and spayed/ neutered. It also covers the cost of transport from Texas and the necessary health certificate documentation. The fees also include a negative heartworm test for any dogs over 6 months. Some dogs have additional medical, such as FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and a myriad of other vetting. We do full disclosure of medical care/situations. If the adoption fees seem high (which never cover the true cost of rescue), we recommend fostering for a good rescue. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees. We are always in need of good fosters. We are all volunteers who donate our time and resources to help save as many dogs/pups lives as we possibly can. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. Over 1 billion dogs worldwide are put to sleep (PTS) annually... thousands daily. The dog pounds PTS entire litters, pregnant/nursing moms and wonderful dogs that can make someone a great companion. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than 'rescue' for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.
