About Maverick

Hi! My name is Maverick and I am a super sweet dog. I am house-broken and crate-trained, and I don't talk very much. I'm a smart guy who knows basic commands like sit, down, leave-it and stay. I've got a great schedule - not an early bird nor a night owl! Typically I sleep/rest in the morning and love to play by the afternoon. Usually by 8 pm, I'm in bed. My favorite times to eat are lunch and dinner more so than at breakfast, but I'm a healthy boy who loves my food. My new favorite thing is to lay in the sunshine on the porch (or living room if it's too hot outside) and even in the shady patches in the backyard. I really like to catch (and chew on!) sticks. I also like to smell the smells and see the sights from the backyard. And, I enjoy walks. I could also be your running buddy. Generally, I'm a happy guy outside! I'm trained on an Invisible Fence and would likely do well with a physical fence too. I love my people and tend to be where my favorite humans are. I like to be loved - behind the ears scratches and gentle belly rubs are my favorites! I even use my manners to nicely ask for more love by gently placing a paw on your lap. I'm a great napper and like to nap in my bed or on my blankets - I love to be cuddly and cozy. I love car rides and am happy to go wherever you can take me! I am a healthy, neutered, microchipped 32 lb mixed breed who is about 4 years old and is up to date on all of my shots and current on my heartworm/flea/tick medication. I am a really great guy who can be a little nervous around new people and would love a home without children or with older children. I'm not sure about some other dogs and don't know about cats and may be best as the only pet in the home.
