About Ben

This handsome guy is Ben! Ben is a 42 pound Hound mix. He is 3 years old and is enjoying his new lease on life. He came to us from a shelter in IL and before being at the shelter he was an outside dog who had probably rarely been indoors. When he arrived he was pretty scared after riding in a kennel for several hours. But he quickly enjoyed the freedom of being in a yard with the resident dogs at his foster home and getting to know his foster family. Ben had to get used to living in a house, but he has adapted quickly. Ben has not been kenneled in his foster home because being confined in a kennel is very stressful for him. He does great with the other dogs in his foster home. He enjoys playing and running through the house and yard with his canine friends. Ben needs a physically fenced yard to keep him safe and he would benefit from having another dog in his new home. Ben will quickly steal your heart. He is a great mix of a playful dog that still enjoys being affectionate and loving with his humans. He has learned that he loves dog beds and dog toys. His favorite is his stuffed hedgehog. Ben has mastered house training in the couple of weeks that he has been in his foster home. He is doing great at learning all of the other manners of living indoors. We have given him a great start on his new life and he is ready to find his forever home that will continue his education. He has loads of personality and is willing to learn.
