About Echo

This sweet girl is Echo. Echo is a 1 year old Beagle mix. She weighs 29 pounds and is the perfect mix of cuddly and playful. Echo came to us from a shelter in IL. We don't know how she ended up there, but it was definitely not her fault. Echo was very timid and scared when she arrived at her Fur Fun foster home. But within a few days her playful personality started to show itself. She started playing with the other young dog in her foster home and seeking affection from the humans. Now she always wants to be by her people. Her foster home has young children and she does very well with them. Because she is a young dog she will chew on things that she finds on the floor like shoes or toys, but she is easily corrected and re-directed to her own toys that are appropriate to chew on. She is now playing fetch and tug along with the other dog in her foster home. Echo does need a physically fenced yard where she can run and play safely. She also likes to sit in the yard on nice days and just watch what is happening in the neighborhood. Echo had not had any training before coming to us. She had much to learn, starting with house training. She has learned from the other dogs in her foster home and she needs another dog in her new forever home that will continue to give her a good example to follow. She is doing well with house training, but will need a home that can get her out frequently and give her good supervision for the first few weeks to help her solidify this skill. She has learned the sit command and her fosters are now working on teaching her not to jump on people, something hard for every young dog to learn. She would benefit from a forever home that will continue her basic training. She is a young dog who is learning quickly. Echo is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and heartworm tested. She is a very loveable dog who loves attention. She is a dog that would love a home that is active and will spend time playing with her and help her expand her exposure to the rest of the world.
