About Ranger

Say hi to Ranger! Ranger is a gorgeous 3-year-old, 18 pound Beagle who was surrendered to us. He was originally purchased from Petland as a puppy and then rehomed (we aren't sure why). The person who surrendered him to us only had him for a week. She said her home had kids and was just too loud for him. Ranger was a little shy and scared the first day in his foster home, but he is slowly warming up and starting to play with the other dogs and toys. He is very much a people dog! He enjoys sleeping in the big bed cuddled next to his foster mom, and when she is sitting down he likes to sit by her. He loves attention and is so happy being petted and loved. He is good with dogs (and cats), and we think a home with another dog would make him the most comfortable. Ranger loves going on walks and does well on a leash. His foster mom thinks he would be okay without a fenced yard, but he loves to be outside, especially with his person, and we think a fenced yard would be best for him. He does know how to use a doggie door. He is not fully housebroken and will mark in the house, but we think once he is neutered that will improve. Ranger is a little nervous riding in a car but calms down in about 10 minutes. He is good in the home and well mannered. Also, for a Beagle he doesn't bark or howl much! Ranger has been to the vet and is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a 12 month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration.
