Thor is a lab mix pulled from a shelter about two months ago because he was very anxious there. He was in a foster home for a little over a month. He was showing signs of separation anxiety. There was no destructive behavior but he would howl and bark. Since the foster lived in an apartment she was not comfortable with the howling behavior. He has been at a boarding facility the last 3 weeks. It is on a farm so he does get the chance to run. However, they said he is really anxious there. We think Thor should be an only animal. He did love with a cat at his foster but there was always a gate separating them. Foster said at times he was ok but others times he would see the cat and bark and jump. He also has been very vocal and jumpy when he sees other dogs. We did try to do a one on one meeting with a calm, relaxed dog and he was very reactive. This may get better with time and training. Thor is also not good with little kids. He has been mouthy and it was not a good fit. Lastly, he does seem to be an anxious dog. And when not given the right time to decompress will show signs of letting off some warning barks and getting mouthy. We do not feel he is an aggressive dog just fearful and anxious. He is a very sweet dog. He has met several of our volunteers and we had no issues with him. He is crate and house trained. He also rides great in the car. He sleeps or quietly looks out the window. We really believe there is a right home for him out there. He is around 1.5-2 years old, neutered, microchipped and UTD on all shots. He is currently on Prozac for the to help with some of the anxiety.
