About Rummy

Adoption Fee: $350
Corgi / Papillon
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Rummy is a 15# small fluffy Corgi mix. The vets guessed his age anywhere between 5-7 y/o. We think he may be on the upper end of that range due to his mannerisms and because he does have a heart murmur and enlarged left atrium. He's on a prescription called pimobendin or vetmedin for his heart issues and will need to be on that for the rest of his life (approx cost is $45/month). When Rummy's owner passed away, he was caught out running the streets with the wrong crowd and ended up in the doggie slammer. He's a quiet boy until he is displeased with something like being crated then he barks, howls, and carries on. Rummy is pretty shy with new people and will need some time to warm up. He'd love a mellow older doggie friend his size (see Todd's bio) who he can just hang out with in a quiet low key home. He's particular about being approached and picked up, so no children or visiting grandchildren under 12 y/o in his new home if any and NO cats. Rummy is doing great now with potty training but may need a refresher in a new home with a new routine. Rummy prefers women over men so will need a female in his new home. He is a sensitive guy so yellers (you know who you are) need not apply. Rummy will need a fenced in area but that will not be a substitute for walks because he loves to go on walkies. We think that's probably his favorite thing actually. He keeps a good pace when it's not too hot out but can't go for miles. Short frequent walks would make him a very happy boy. His second favorite thing is chasing his foster mom around the backyard and tugging on her pant legs. If interested in meeting Rummy, complete our application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms as the first step. We require the application, home and reference check and meet with everyone in the home. Rummy is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. Rummy's adoption fee is $350 and we are not doing out of state adoptions.
