About Oreo

This good boy is Oreo, a 2 years old Australian Cattledog mix who weighs just about 50 pounds. His DNA test shows him as about 25% Bulldog, 25% German Shep, 25% Boxer, and 13% each heeler and whippet. Oreo know his basic commands: Sit, Stay/wait, Drop it, Lay down, and Come. He also knows Roll over and Shake/paw. He is house trained, too. (See the video by clicking on the red YouTube button) Oreo is hesitant at first when meeting people, but a polite introduction that includes giving him a bit of time, then treats, warms him up to being friends. Oreo did nip someone that he didn't know: when the person stepped over the gate to approach to Oreo without giving a moment to warm up, Oreo gave him a nip and did not break skin. If someone just gives him time to get to know them, Oreo has warmed up fine. He lives with kids and is good with the family kids who come visit. Since he does need a moment to warm up, his best home is with older kids or no kids. Oreo does have a few dog pals. Like with people, ideally he meets slowly at first so he can get to know them. He is fine out on a walk, not lunging at dogs or anything like that. He just prefers polite meetings. With his dog pals, he loves to play and could play all day! Oreo loves to fetch balls or even toys. Oreo is good on leash. A trainer has worked with him on his leash skills. He is also good in the car, though he does whine here and there. He will be a good pal for adventures. Oreo is very loving with his family and very loyal. He likes to keep his people within eyesight and loves spending time doing things with his people. Oreo is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in Fullerton, CA. Adopters must be able to meet and adopt here. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required.
